  1. Lauren, you are a detailed person it seems. I love how you set up your action plan. Seems it is very well thought out. I noticed that you put in E-school. Is your school doing the Online public school? Was curious about that. The way you have set it up should help you stay on track to complete your project in time. Very impressive.

  2. Lauren- You get the award for getting this posted and giving the rest of us something to look at. You are so organized! I have to say, that yours really helped me put what I have been thinking in my head to paper where I can see my timeline and keep in on track during the school year. Way to go and your project is going to be great!!!

  4. Lauren, this is awesome! Just wondering - Where your plan indicates conduct interviews (surveys), will you be doing actual face to face interviews or having the students fill out a survey? If you go with a survey, will you plan to use paper and pencil or online?

    1. Cherie, I have it like that at the moment because I am not sure what I plan on doing...might just do an interview, just do a survey, or both. If a survey is done, it will be paper and pencil most likely.

  5. Great topic. As a coach, I can see a correlation between academics and athletics. I am interested to see your findings. Quick question...will you be focusing on middle school or high school students? Also, will you focus on a specific grade level.

  8. I'm interested to hear your findings. As a student athlete myself I believe that sports helped me be more well-rounded and held me accountable. I'm a coach's kid and now a coach's wife so I very much invested :)

  9. This is a great plan. You are very thorough in your thought process. You will definitely have a good amount of data and information to incorporate in your report. I am a former coach, and this is something that we coaches would talk about in meetings. I look forward to your formal findings.

  10. I can't add anything, but I'm curious if you are a coach of an extracurricular activity?

  11. Great job Lauren! I have taught elementary students for 11 years so I really don't have much to do with extracurricular activities. But, this will be my first year in middle school and really dealing with extracurricular activities. Your plan really got me thinking about what effects it might have on the students. I'm very interested in seeing your results at the end of your project.

You might want to try out Survey Monkey. It's a great site, easy to use, free, and the kids would love doing an online survey.

  12. Lauren,

So, we're almost twins in our study. You did a great job in your design of plan! Do you have a survey set yet or will you design yours with your team? I have questions ready, but when I meet with my team there may be additions/corrections. I've had some chats with most of my team and they all seem to be on board and excited to see outcomes. I'm ready to go talk with the board members already!

    Great job, keep it up!
